You’re planning a relaxing afternoon of shopping and want to visit a few stores—preferably with your dog. That’s when the question arises: Where are dogs actually allowed?
Unfortunately, the answer is not always clear-cut. Some stores are dog-friendly, while others do not allow dogs at all. What’s more, different chains have different policies, and some branches have their own additional rules.
It’s best to check DogMap first to see if the store is already marked as dog-friendly. If there is no information there yet, then there’s no other option: you’ll have to look for signs at the entrance or ask the staff.

Which fashion stores are dog-friendly?

H&M – Are dogs permitted?
H&M is pretty relaxed about dogs in many of its stores. The policy on assistance dogs is particularly clear: they are welcome at all times—even without a vest.
This is ideal for a shopping day because you don’t have to think twice about whether you’ll have to turn around at the entrance.
C&A – Are dogs permitted?
C&A puts it politely, but also has a few rules: Dogs are generally welcome as long as they are kept on a leash and do not disturb customers or pose a tripping hazard in the store.
Sounds fair—no problem if you have a well-behaved dog.
Kik – Are dogs permitted?
KiK is quite clear: normal dogs are not allowed inside—mainly for hygiene reasons and to avoid possible allergies.
Of course, there is an exception for assistance dogs: they are allowed, provided that you notify the staff at the beginning of your visit. So: okay for assistance dog teams, but unfortunately not for anyone else.
Takko – Are dogs permitted?
Dogs are often allowed in Takko stores in general. However, the statement from the company’s communications department specifically refers to the right of access for assistance dogs:
