Ilm district – assistance dog friendly!

Statement Campaign: Assistance Dog Friendly Community Ilm-Kreis

As the district of Ilm-Kreis in Thuringia, we live diversity, tolerance, cosmopolitanism and inclusion.
At all levels. The topics of inclusion, accessibility and social participation are a matter close to our hearts, which is why we are always developing and advocating for people with disabilities.

For this reason, we want to be the first district in Thuringia to uniformly follow your campaign
“Assistance Dog Friendly Municipality” and thus set an important example. In addition to the district town of Ilmenau and the town of Arnstadt, the district with its various main and branch offices of the district administration and the regional job centre would like to present itself as assistance dog-friendly both internally and externally.

Assistance dogs are a component of living inclusion. They compensate for disabilities, make their relatives safer, more independent and happier. They function as companions, friends and helpers, lifesavers and crisis sensors. Together we want to create a future where people with assistance dogs can move freely everywhere.

We are clearly committed to inclusion as well as assistance dog teams and want the Ilm district to take a step forward.
step by step more barrier-free.
